Came to Colchester to join the practice of his uncle Dr Perkins who retired because of poor health, and sold him his Practice for an annuity but Perkins survived for 34 years more! On 22nd January 1936 a Dorothy Caroline Philpott, Spinster, born Lewisham 1884, changed her name by deed to Dorothy Caroline Harwood-Yarred but she died in Colchester 6 march 1936.( His first wife Flora Foster Harwood-Yarred, whom he had married in1907, died in Wycombe in 1938). He continued to live in Colchester until 1956, assisted by Dr William Fraser-Allen (who bought 2 Oxford rd, which became the Grey Road practice) YOUNG George Born: 1875 in Romania Died: 30.10.1935 Practice: Hon. Other Information: His father was court surgeon and physician to King Charles II and queen Marie of Romania. He met Dr Ruth Bensusan-Butt, one of the first women to qualify as a doctor in this country, who made him aware that the ECH needed an ophthalmic surgeon.
