Education: MB,ChB( St Andrew's) 1925.FRCS(Edin) 1930
Other information: Treated survivors of the Simon Bolivar, a Dutch liner sunk by 
a German mine. Also looked after survivors of the 28 Chapel Street bombing.                       
Keen yaughtsman, fisherman and traveller. Married to Dorothy, their son Alan 
became GP in Colchester

OGILVIE William Heanage

Died: 1971
Practice: Surgeon St Vincent Orthopaedic hospital (1936), Senior  Surgeon Guy's 
hospital, Surgeon Urgency Cases Hospital and Military Orthopaedic Hospital 
Birmingham. Hon Surgeon Eastern Command and Hon Surgeon at ECH 1944-48 
Education: BA (Oxford 1910), ), MRCS LRCP (1913) (Oxford and Guys)  MCh 
(1920), MA, MB, Bch (1913), MD (1924) FRCS(1920 
Other Information: ôHe was a most interesting and stimulating man, immensely 
interested in surgery and with Ronnie Reid, founded the Surgical Party which 
presented and discussed interesting surgical problems. He had a disastrous first 
marriage, I think he was rather fond of the ladies, possibly as an escape. He 
became friendly with one our lady H. S. a very nice girl but much younger than 
him and she devoted herself to looking after him when he was a shadow of his 
former self. She adored him. ( J Penfold)
