named Seaman for several generations practised as apothecaries. They were 
succeeded by William Smith, six times Major of Colchester an eminent wine 
merchant, whose son in early Victorian days, occupied the great bow windowed 
ôColchester Houseö opposite a boarding school for young ladies in early 
Georgian days when this Kings Head next door, still retained its ancient

expenses, had to own a horse and had to live in the house adjoining Nunn with
access to his shop. In1817 Partnership dissolved as Henry Nunn retired
aged 78 to be paid a ú400 annuity but fortunately  for mim,Nunn died the 
following year.

Other information:.He was very careful in matters of dress and always appeared 
in his white tie. He was a nonconformist and was the son of the Master of 
Stanway Union .He had a son who was apprenticed to Dr. Clark of Trinity St. and 
afterwards he became Dr SimpsonÆs unqualified assistant. On the passing of the 
last Medical act, there was a year of grace and many were given, after a trifling 
examination, the membership of the College. Dr Hart was one of those that were 
going to oppose granting membership to SimpsonÆs son, but he got an 
injunction û on Harts agreement- and stopped him. He afterwards he practised 
at Layer Breton.
Elected Col. Med Soc 14.8.1857 Removed from Society 24.8.1896 but he stated 
he had never given permission for his name to go forward for election (Col.
Med Soc Records     ) Sir William Gowers was apprenticed to himô
